The method covers procedures for determining fast-neutron flux density, neutrons.cm/sup -2/.s/sup -1/, by assaying a fission product (F.P.) from the fission reaction /sup 238/U(n,f)F.P. The reaction is useful for measuring neutrons with energies from approximately 1.5 to 7 MeV and for irradiation times up to 30 to 40 years. The method includes a discussion of significance and use, apparatus, materials, procedure, calculations, precision, and accuracy. (JMT)
