A new method to measure [Gamma][sub b[bar b]]/[Gamma][sub had] at the Z[sup 0] resonance is presented involving the identification of Z[sup 0][r arrow]b[bar b] events by the semi-leptonic decay of b-flavored hadrons and their relatively long lifetime. Using several combinations of tagged hemispheres allows the determination of identification efficiencies from the data. The method is therefore insensitive to uncertainties in b quark fragmentation and properties of b-flavored hadrons such as decay modeling, branching ratios, relative production rates, and specific lifetimes. The result is compared to other presently available measurements from LEP.
