Transition probabilities of the B' /sup 1/. sigma. /sub u//sup +/. -->. X /sup 1/. sigma. /sub g//sup +/ system of molecular hydrogen

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev. A; (United States)
From published potential-energy curves and transition dipole moments we obtain by numerical integration of the equations of nuclear motion the vibrational eigenfunctions of the X /sup 1/..sigma../sub g//sup +/ and B' /sup 1/..sigma../sub u//sup +/ states of H/sub 2/ and we calculate the probabilities of radiative transitions from the discrete vibrational levels of the excited B' /sup 1/..sigma../sub u//sup +/ electronic state of H/sub 2/ to the discrete and continuum vibrational levels of the ground X /sup 1/..sigma../sub g//sup +/ electronic state. The Franck-Condon factors are also presented.
