Magnetic relaxation in a single crystal of YBa sub 2 Cu sub 3 O sub x

Conference ·
OSTI ID:5470573

We report magnetic relaxation in a single crystal of YBa{sub 2}Cu{sub 3}O{sub x} at a wide range of temperatures and applied fields. We interpret the magnetic relaxation by combining Bean's critical state-model and the Anderson-Kim flux creep theory. The effect of temperature and field dependence of flux creep rate and the relationship between the flux-creep activation pinning energy and the decay of the persistent current are discussed. 4 refs., 2 figs.
