A Ge(Li) detector of volume 100 cm/sup 3/ in a bremsstrahlung beam with end point 32 MeV has been used to measure spectra of ..gamma.. rays produced in the reactions /sup 27/Al(..gamma.., p..gamma..') /sup 26/Mg and /sup 27/Al(..gamma.., n..gamma..') /sup 26/Al. The detection angle was 140/sup 0/. Integrated cross sections have been determined for photonucleon reactions in /sup 27/Al with production of the final nuclei in individual states. The results are interpreted with the aid of data on the characteristics of the populated states from one-nucleon transfer reactions. Conclusions are drawn regarding the mechanism of the photonucleon reactions and the role of isospin in the formation and decay of the giant dipole resonance of /sup 27/Al and a number of other odd-even nuclei of the 1d2s shell.
