The North Coles Levee field is located in the San Joaquin Valley, approximately halfway between the cities of Bakersfield and Taft, California. Production, from the Stevens Sand, has significantly declined, partly due to migration and/or swelling of fines. Nine wells in this field have been acidized with the sequential hydrofluoric acid (SHF) system within the last twelve months. Six of these treatments were termed successful with an average production increase of 2.8 for all nine wells. Presented in this study are reservoir characteristics, production history and production data on the North Coles Levee field. 5 refs.
