Journal Article · · ASAE Tech. Pap.; (United States)
OSTI ID:5449336
A concentric vortex-cell biomass furnace was built and integrated into in-bin counterflow dryer. The average energy consumption was 9000 kJ/kg of water removed when drying corn from 26% to 15.5% moisture (w.b.) with fuels of wood chips, corn cobs and shelled corn. The average biomass requirement was 50 kg dry matter per metric ton of corn.
