On recent oil-market history: An editorial

This issue seeks to link two subjects: public affairs and energy policies. During one of the most difficult and dangerous times in years, the international and domestic energy industries have been in the public spotlight and suffered from the scrutiny. Energy Detente suggests that the challenge to petroleum and related industries to account for themselves for their reactions to the invasion of Kuwait in early August will yield some excellent results, especially in the area of public relations. This issue also includes the following: (1) the ED Refining Netback Data Series for the US Gulf and West Coasts, Rotterdam and Singapore as of September 21, 1990; and (2) the ED Fuel Price/Tax Series for countries of the Eastern hemisphere, September 1990 edition. 3 figs., 5 tabs.
