The bill suspends the site selection process under the Nuclear Waste Policy Act of 1982. A companion bill to H.R. 5031, it is a response the Energy Secretary's postponement in selecting a site for high-level radioactive waste storage and new concerns following the Chernobyl accident. It repeals Sections 112 and 113, and calls for deliberations and passage of new guidelines.
