We studied the resonance behavior of the {pi}NN system in the configuration J{sup P}=0{sup {minus}}, isospin 0. We applied nonrelativistic Faddeev equations with realistic local potentials for the pion-nucleon and nucleon-nucleon interactions in the S{sub 11} and {sup 1}S{sub 0} channels, respectively. A resonance was found in this specific state; it lies slightly above the {pi}NN threshold and has a mass of 2018 MeV and a width of 1.75 MeV. {copyright} {ital 1997} {ital The American Physical Society}
