Denver conference examines Chinese mining industry

This article on Chinese metal and mineral production includes a very brief mention of coal mining. Coal provides 65-70% of the country's energy, and there is very little surplus coal for export. In 1974, China produced 11% of world anthracite output, 19% of world bituminous coal output, and 7% of world coke output.
