Congressman Florida from New Jersey, representatives from environmental groups, EPA and Senator Mitchell from Maine were among those testifying on H.R. 2837. This bill amends the Toxic Substances Control Act to assist States in responding to the threat to human health posed by exposure to radon. Over the past few months, surveys of indoor radon have indicated that the health threat is much greater than many health scientists first believed. Thirteen witnesses submitted testimony in an effort to strengthen H.R. 2837.
