Strategic dilemma of electric utilities: Part II

Journal Article · · Public Util. Fortn.; (United States)
OSTI ID:5400356
In this second installment of a two-part article on options available to electric utilities for meeting a serious current economic challenge, the author argues that only one such option addresses the fundamental problem confronting them: the reality of increasing unit costs. He proposes a slow growth strategy for the immediate term, with far greater emphasis on increasing the utilization of existing capacity and thus, a new approach to the marketing of available capacity. The outline of that approach is developed here. 2 figures, 1 table.
