Effect of the. delta. (1236) isobar on the three-nucleon bound states

Two-nucleon potentials are unable to account simultaneously for the binding energy and the e.m. form factors of the three-nucleon bound states. If the force is allowed to yield explicit ..delta..-isobar excitation, the two-nucleon interaction gets renormalized and a three-nucleon interaction and e.m. exchange-currents (EC) arise. 2 references.
