A Honeywell W-7000 load control system has cut energy consumption at a Pittsburgh Shop and Save by 13% and should pay for itself in about 1.5 years. An 18.4% increase in utility rates, however, lowered the electricity savings to 10%. The energy management system (EMS) performs duty-cycling, demand limiting, and time-of-day scheduling functions in addition to controlling 25 loads. Monitoring information gathered by the manufacturer allows a weekly performance comparison of the system. (DCK)
