P-odd asymmetries in the processes l/sup -/(l/sup +/)+N. -->. l/sup -/(l/sup +/)+X and a possible method of testing the Weinberg-Salam theory

Deep inelastic scattering of polarized leptons and antileptons by nucleons is considered in the standard theory of the electroweak interaction. It is shown that the parton model is applicable as a consequence of the smallness of the isoscalar contribution to the P-odd asymmetries A/sub -/ and A/sub +/. For fixed q/sup 2/, ..nu.., and y, a relation between the asymmetries A/sub -/ and A/sub +/ and the cross sections for deep inelastic neutrino-nucleon and lepton-nucleon processes is obtained. A relation between the parameter sin/sup 2/theta and the asymmetries A/sub -/ and A/sub +/ is also obtained.
