Advanced Stimulation Technology Deployment Program, East Ohio Gas Company, Clinton Formation, Stark-Summit Storage Field, Ohio. Topical report, September 1996-March 1997

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:538811
This report discusses the documentation of AST methodologies applied by East Ohio Gas (EOG) to Clinton formation completions in the Stark-Summit storage field. These technologies include one point well test analysis, history matching of field-measured net pressures, fracture treatment optimization studies, reservoir simulation, and post-fracture evaluation. The Stark-Summit field, completed in the Clinton formation, was converted to storage in 1941. Throughout the 1950`s and 60`s a majority of wells were hydraulically fractured to increase deliverability. In an effort to maintain deliverability, EOG routinely re-stimulates approximately 20s well per year. By applying AST technologies, better methods were developed to pick restimulation candidates, and fracture design was optimized for the two study wells.
