Study of aftereffect of photomultiplier in photon-count mode

The induced increase in dark counts in an FEU-79 photomultiplier operating in the photon-count mode is studied by exposing its photocathode to light pulses with a power or 10/sup -12/-10/sup -8/ W and a duration of a few milliseconds.
