Using the Knudsen effusion mass spectrometric method, the composition of vapor and the partial pressures of vapor species over melts of the CaO-Al{sub 2}O{sub 3}-SiO{sub 2} system were studied for the temperature range 1,833--2,033 K. Thermodynamic functions for the CaO-Al{sub 2}O{sub 3}-SiO{sub 2} system were obtained, and negative deviations from the ideal behavior were illustrated. The dependence of the Gibbs energies of formation of the CaO-Al{sub 2}O{sub 3}-SiO{sub 2} system on concentration of components was suggested. Vaporization processes and thermodynamic properties of the CaO-Al{sub 2}O{sub 3}-SiO{sub 2} system have great importance in every stage of the so-called materials cycle of obtaining the raw materials, metals extraction and refinement, conversion to basic product materials (crystals, ceramics, coatings), and disposal of used products.
