S. 1081: This Act may be cited as the Water Pollution Prevention and Control Act of 1991, introduced in the US Senate, One Hundred Second Congress, First Session, May 15, 1991
Despite significant progress in water pollution control over the past twenty years, serious water quality problems persist throughout the United States. This bill was introduced into the US Senate on May 15, 1991 to amend and reauthorize the Federal Water Pollution Control Act. Separate sections deal with the following topics: water quality research; technology demonstration program; state grant assistance; wastewater training and certification; effluent guidelines; water quality standards; priority waters; water quality monitoring; toxic pollution control; pretreatment program; enforcement; toxic reduction action program; nonpoint source pollution; national river assessment and protection program; permit program modifications; biological discharge criteria; interstate dispute resolution; combined sewer overflows; permit fees; employee protection; reports to Congress; Indian water quality programs; environmental audits; United States-Mexico border water quality; authorizations; and state revolving loan funds.
