Journal Article · · Offshore; (United States)
OSTI ID:5376552
Harsh maritime conditions, aided by inflation, have caused North Sea producing costs to go crashing through the ceiling. Because of this, the North Sea has become a popular place for operators to experiment with new equipment, try out different ideas, innovate for producing methods. Platform design has altered significantly because of North Sea experience. Brief summaries of how each field is being produced, how the innovations are working, and what the operators plan are given. Summaries are given for Argyll, Auk, Beryl, Brent, Claymore, Dan, Ekofisk, Forties, Frigg, Montrose, Ninion, Piper, Stratfjord, and Thistle Fields. (MCW)
