From tunneling measurements for the electron-doped cuprate oxide superconductor Nd{sub 2{minus}{ital x}}Ce{sub {ital x}}CuO{sub 4{minus}{ital y}}, we obtained the superconducting energy gap of 2{Delta}=8 meV with {ital T}{sub {ital c}}=17--18 K. This result leads to the value of 2{Delta}/{ital kT}{sub {ital c}}=5.2--5.5, which is close to or somewhat larger than that for La{sub 2{minus}{ital x}}Sr{sub {ital x}}CuO{sub 4} but slightly smaller than that for Bi{sub 2}Sr{sub 2}CuO{sub {ital y}}.
