13th annual review of overall reliability and adequacy of bulk power supply in the electric utility systems of North America

Book ·
OSTI ID:5373651
The North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC) assesses overall future electric power reliability and adequacy and finds it sufficient for the next five to seven years, but uncertain beyond that time because of key factors and issues affecting supply. One concern is the trend toward overloading transmission networks in order to transfer low-cost power. Detailed analyses of the nine regional and one affiliate councils discuss future supplies and issues pertinent to each area. 43 figures, 5 tables. (DCK)
