Location of the maximum of the quasielastic peak in deep inelastic scattering of electrons

We report a study of the shift of the maximum of the quasielastic peak in /sup 4/He relative to the elastic eN scattering peak in the range of momentum transfers 200--600 MeV/c. We show that the minimum observed in the experimental dependence can be qualitatively explained on the basis of the general properties of /sup 4/He and the process of electron scattering by it.
