Pacific Gas Transmission adds ten compressor stations in 1969

The addition of new compressor stations, compressors to existing stations, connection of new gas sources in Alberta, and construction of new processing plants feature the major current expansion of Pacific Gas Transmission Co.'s natural gas pipeline system. All work is due for completion by Nov. 1, 1969. Overall effect will be to raise deliveries to Pacific Gas at the California-Oregon border by 200 MMcfd to 815 MMcfd. The system is designed for maximum allowable operating pressure of 911 psig. The principal construction features include building 10 new compressor stations and constructing 3 additions to existing stations in Alberta, British Columbia, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, and California with an aggregate additional horsepower rating of 158,740; connection of new natural gas sources in Alberta; and building of several processing plants in Alberta to strip heavy hydrocarbons and sulfur from the gas for sale as by-products.
