Moments of the multiplicity distributions of charged secondary particles in proton-nucleus and nucleus-nucleus collisions

We analyze the multiplicity distributions of various types of charged secondary particles produced in interactions of protons and relativistic d, He, and C nuclei with propane and tantalum nuclei in the 2-meter propane bubble chamber at the JINR High Energy Laboratory. It is shown that the moments of these distributions and their correlations are reproduced well by models based on the picture of successive collisions of nucleons from the interacting nuclei.
