Manganese poisoning: clinical and biochemical observations

Journal Article · · Environ. Res.; (United States)
Clinical and biochemical studies conducted in 12 cases of suspected manganese poisoning enable cases to be divided into mild, moderate, and severe grades of poisoning on the basis of neurological observations. Significant disorders in each poisoning grade are described. serum calcium levels could be of great importance in detecting manganese poisoning in its early stages. Significant changes in adenosine deaminase levels do not appear until moderate poisoning occurs. (1 drawing, 1 photo, 19 references, 3 tables)
