Title: Isomeric-to-prompt fission ratios for the uranium fission isomers /sup 236/U/sup m/ and /sup 238/U/sup m/. [17 to 25 MeV]

Fission isomers in /sup 236/U and /sup 238/U have been populated in /sup 235/U(d,p)/sup 236/U/sup m/, /sup 236/U(d,pn)/sup 236/U/sup m/, and the /sup 238/U(d,pn)/sup 238/U/sup m/ reactions. Time spectra of fission fragments with respect to the cyclotron beam pulses have been measured. From these measurements the isomeric-to-prompt fission ratios are derived for deuteron energies ranging from 17 to 25 MeV. The isomeric-to-prompt ratios show a distinct maximum around 20 MeV for the (d,pn) reactions, whereas a monotonic decrease is observed for the /sup 235/U(d,p)/sup 236/U/sup m/ reaction.
