Coal-fired cycling operation at Illinois Power's Havana Station

This paper will describe the experience of cycling the 450-MW coal-fired Unit 6 at Illinois Power Company's Havana Station located at Havana, Illinois. The steam generator is a natural circulation drum unit supplied by Babcock and Wilcox, rated at 3,239,000 lb/h steam flow at 1965 psig, and 1005 F superheat and reheat steam temperature. 8 refs.
