Dynamic modeling for a 200-MW coal-fired, drum-type natural circulation boiler is described. The continuous maximum rating is l,350,000 lb/h with steam conditions of 2450 psig and 568.3 C, reheating to 540.6 C at 457 psig. The economic rated output of the turbine is 200 MW at 3000 rpm. The unit is divided into the following lumped-parameters sections: economizer, drum, downcomer, waterfall, front wall radiant superheater, primary superheater, superheater spray attemperator, secondary superheater, high pressure turbine, reheater spray attemperator, horizontal reheater, pendant reheater, intermediate-pressure turbine, and low-pressure turbine. A simulator may be built using the model as the basis and used for training station operators. (MCW)
