The authors investigate the influence of additions of molybdenum, tungsten, and cobalt on the resistance to sulfide and chloride corrosion of type ZhS6K, EP539, and EP958 high temperature strength nickel alloys. The study shows that alloying of nickel alloys with molybdenum, tungsten, and cobalt strengthens sulfide and weakens chloride corrosion. To provide high resistance of high-temperature strength alloys to sulfide corrosion molybdenum and tungsten must be added in a quantity which is determined by the chromium content in the alloys.
