Synthesis and NMR-spectroscopic investigation of adducts of neptunyl pivaloyltrifluoroacetonate

Journal Article · · Sov. Radiochem. (Engl. Transl.); (United States)
OSTI ID:5334189

The authors attempt to find the optimal conditions for the synthesis of volatile adducts of N /SUB p/ O/sub 2/(PTFA)/sub 2/ and to investigate them spectroscopically for the purpose of establishing the composition of the complexes, identifying the impurities, and obtaining information on the structure and behavior of the complexes in solutions. The NMR spectra reveal the different reactivities of the cis and trans isomers. The use of strong neutral ligands increases the stability of the adducts of Np(VI) in the sublimation process and promotes the maintenance of the isomeric composition of the adduct.
