The Nuclear Waste Management Fee Adjustment Procedures Act of 1985 (H.R.1221) changes the procedures for making fee adjustments so that revenues will offset expenditures. Proposals for adjustments will analyze the reasons for a discrepancy, project civilian nuclear power demand, and project the costs of operating and monitoring waste repositories. The Bill establishes an Advisory Commission on Nuclear Waste Financing to monitor waste operations, review fee adjustment proposals, and report to Congress.
