/sup 1/H, /sup 13/C, and /sup 77/Se NMR spectra of compounds of the selenopheno(2,3-c)thiophene series
In order to ascertain the influence of the type of condensation and the nature of ring heteroatoms on the structure and reactivity of fused five-membered heterocycles, we studied the /sup 1/H, /sup 13/C, and /sup 77/Se NMR spectra of selenopheno(2,3-c)thiophene, selenopheno(2,3-c)-thiophene-4-carboxaldehyde, and selenopheno(2,3-c)thiophene-6-carboxaldehyde, the latter being formed as a result of the Vilsmeier formylation of selenopheno(2,3-c) and metalation by n-butyl-lithium followed by the treatment of the Li derivatives with DMFA. For this purpose, a quantum-chemical calculation of the charge densities on the C atoms and the heteroatoms in the molecules of thiophene, selenophene, thieno(3,4-b)thiophene, selenopheno(3,4-b)thiophene, selenopheno(3,4-b)selenophene, and selenopheno(2,3-c)thiophene was also carried out.
