Report on subtask 1: data gathering, analysis and reporting of scrubber instrumentation survey

A variety of in-line instrumentation capable of monitoring typical FGD system variables was found to be on the market. However, little information has been found on instrumentation capable of measuring iron, magnesium, and chloride ion concentration, sulfate and sulfite concentration, and particle size. This indicates that, if these variables are to become typically monitored in an FGD system, then further developments are required to produce applicable in-line instrumentation. Also, more information is required on the specific instruments included in this report before the instrument evaluation of Subtask 3 can be performed. This information will be obtained and presented as a supplementary report.
