In performance testing at the BEST Facility, a 500-kW peak-shaving battery energy storage plant met the requirements of a variety of typical utility- and customer-load demand profiles work 65 to 75% energy storage efficiency. The system - whose major components are commercially available - is ready for trial use by utilities and their customers.
