Practical methods to conserve energy in space heating and cooling are presented for different types of houses. Cost estimates and resultant dollar savings in the first year are provided for each option. Installation methods are illustrated for each option to insure safety, permanence, and cost-effectiveness. Energy conservation techniques include caulking and weatherstripping doors and windows, installing storm windows, insulating attics and walls, and adjusting thermostat settings.
