Sensitivity of P-odd polarization observables in. gamma. p r arrow N. pi. to axial anomaly and gluon corrections to. Delta. -isobar couplings

The P-odd polarization observables in {gamma}{ital p} {r arrow} {ital N}{pi} have been calculated in the region of the {Delta}-isobar. The P-odd parts of the {gamma}{ital p} {r arrow} {ital N}{pi} amplitudes are determined by the diagrams with the axial anomaly and the couplings of the P-odd transitions {ital p} {r arrow} {ital N}{pi}{sup +}, {gamma}{ital p} {r arrow} {Delta}{sup +}, and {Delta}{sup +} {r arrow} {ital N}{pi}. The gluon exchanges in the P-odd part of the Hamiltonian of weak quark interactions are shown to enhance the couplings of the {gamma}{ital p} {r arrow} {Delta}{sup +} and {Delta}{sup +} {r arrow} {ital N}{pi} transitions. The contributions of the axial anomaly are rather small. The relative values of the P-odd observables are approximately equal to 10{sup {minus}6}.
