Results are given for the study of the yield of HCl in the radiolysis of trichlorobenzene (TCB) and lower chlorobenzenes, dichlorobenzene and chlorobenzene, in the presence of an organic component: octane, benzene, nitrobenzene, trioctylamine, triethylamine and decyl alcohol. In all the solutions, there was observed a sensitizing action by the organic component on the yield of HCl from TCB. The possible sensitization mechanisms are discussed. It was shown that the inhibitor should be sought from among compounds having a low affinity to electron and low ionization an electronic excitation potentials.
