Polarization and spin transfer of. Omega. sup minus and. Xi. sup minus hyperons at 800 GeV

Fermilab experiment E756 has measured the polarization of W{sup {minus}} hyperons produced by 800 GeV protons to be small compared to that of {Xi}{sup {minus}} hyperons. When produced by a neutral beam containing polarized {Lambda} and {Xi}{sup 0} hyperons, both the {Omega}{sup {minus}} and the {Xi}{sup {minus}} have a significant polarization indicating a large spin transfer at high energies.
