Calculation of the cross section for the direct photodisintegration of the /sup 6/Li nucleus has been carried out in the momentum representation using a basis of three-body hyperspherical functions. The calculations have been performed using the gradient form of the operator of the ..gamma..-ray interaction with the nucleus, as well as applying the Siegert theorem. It is shown that the mechanism of direct photodisintegration contributes substantially to the cross section for the reaction ..gamma..+/sup 6/Li ..-->.. ..cap alpha..+n+p in the energy range E/sub r/<10 MeV. The important role of the interaction between all reaction products is revealed. The high sensitivity of the Siegert theorem to inaccuracies of the final-state wave function is demonstrated.
