Acid-catalyzed organic compound conversion
A process is described for conducting acid-catalyzed conversion of feedstock comprising C/sub 2//sup +/ olefins, C/sub 2/-C/sub 7/ paraffins or a mixture thereof to product comprising C/sub 5//sup +/ hydrocarbon compounds which comprises contacting the feedstock at conditions sufficient to convert the feedstock to the C/sub 5//sup +/ product hydrocarbons with a catalyst comprising a zeolite composition prepared by a method comprising treating a crystalline zeolite having an initial silica-to-alumina mole ratio of at least 500 with an ammoniacal solution of an alkali metal aluminate for a period of time ranging from about 20 minutes to about 30 days at a temperature from about 20/sup 0/C. to about 50/sup 0/C. and at a pH of at least 10.
