The authors investigated the effect of alloying with (1-4 wt.%) titanium or (1-2%) molybdenum on the electrochemical properties (in 1 N solution of H/sub 2/SO/sub 4/) and on the pitting potentials (in 0.5 N and 1 N NaCl) of superferritic steel 01Kh25TB (C + N less than or equal to 0.02 wt.%). It is demonstrated that titanium and molybdenum reduce the anodic current intensities both in the active and passive regions of potentials; alloying the investigated steel with titanium makes its transition to the transpassive state difficult and (like molybdenum) increases its resistance to pitting in chlorides.
