Process for catalytic conversion of ethylene to higher hydrocarbons

A process is described for converting ethylene to normally liquid hydrocarbons which comprises contacting a gas comprising ethylene with a siliceous crystalline molecular sieve under high severity conditions including elevated temperatures and short olefin contact times. The conditions are selected such that the liquids productivity of the catalyst is greater than about 50% of the theoretical maximum.
