Examples are presented of the short-range, energy-dependent, quark-compound-bag-model NN potentials that give rise to a P matrix without potential poles, and thus fulfill the classical Wigner causality condition. It is shown that the quark-compound-bag-model potentials with radii b lying in the range from 1.3 to 1.4 fm reproduce the experimental value for the trinucleon binding energy.
