A network development tool for the SCOPE 2.1 Systems programmer is described. The goal of the proposed software is to provide a software package that is extremely reliable and very easy to develop and modify. SIMPLE (Scope Implementation for MASSNET Protocol Level Experimentation) is to be used to gain an understanding of various hardware and protocol aspects of the proposed Sandia Central Computing Network. This report describes the software necessary for a systems programmer using a CDC 7000 series computer running the SCOPE 2.1 operating system to do meaningful software development for the connection of SCOPE 2.1 to the CCN.
