Excitation of the sup 4 He nucleus in the reaction sup 6 Li( sup 7 Li, sup 9 Be)

Differential cross sections have been measured for the reactions {sup 6}Li({sup 7}Li,{sup 9}Be){sup 4}He at an energy {ital E}({sup 7}Li)=78 MeV. In the region of excitation energy of the {sup 4}He nucleus 23.4{plus minus}0.6 MeV a resonance of width 4.0{plus minus}0.6 MeV is observed which corresponds to hole excitations of the 1{ital s} shell. Angular distributions obtained for the ground and excited states of the {sup 4}He nucleus have been analyzed in the framework of the distorted-wave method with exact inclusion of interaction range and recoil effects. The analysis showed that the resonance observed at {ital E}{sub {ital x}} =23.4 MeV may be due to excitation of two known states of the He nucleus at {ital E}{sub {ital x}} =22.1 MeV (2{sup {minus}}) and 25.5 MeV (0{sup +}, 1{sup +}).
