Beam nonuniformity effects on laser ablatively accelerated targets

Technical Report ·
DOI:https://doi.org/10.2172/5236298· OSTI ID:5236298
Results are presented of a laser doppler shift technique which gives the velocity profiles of ablatively accelerated targets. Measurements of the effects of laser beam nonuniformity on the target acceleration are presented and interpreted in the context of laser pellet fusion.
