The book has been designed to aid in making decisions about what conservation measures are most economical for the home. It also details how the homeowner can take actions to insure that a contractor is using the techniques that give the most savings for an investment. Common conservation measures are listed in the order of their cost effectiveness and comfort contribution. The most important conservation actions involve weathering the house and improving the efficiency of the heating and cooling systems.
