The five basic steps in the implementation of an energy management program are to: perform an energy audit, undertake a building walk-through survey, develop an understanding of utility rate structure, identify and implement energy conservation opportunities, and maintain ongoing management and monitoring of the program. Each of these steps is examined in detail.
